It's not so difficult to understand

This is what it's like

*

Reality is...

Sellers are ebay customers.
Bidders are seller's customers.
What dosn't ebay or Meg or who-ever understand?
I'm just a high school grad...I understand it!

*

I think it would be a closer analogy to say:
Buyers are ebay's inventory
Sellers are ebay's customers

*

I don't know if eBay has thought about it - when you make sellers mad, you drive away some very active, serious buyers too who also happen to be sellers. Most of them don't use separate buying and selling IDs. It's not that hard to figure out.

Yes, sellers are ebay's customers, and buyers are the customers of the sellers.
Ebay's sellers are their number 1 resource, but I can't really see in their history how they have intelligently treated them as such. Again and again, they dip into the well of the seller to compensate for their own missteps. How long can they dip into their best resource's well before it dries up? A smart company develops trust and loyalty if they have a long term view and plan. I guess they think they will always be the only game in town.

at least since Meg came aboard, eBay has viewed BUYERS as its customers, not SELLERS!!
I specifically asked her who eBay considered to be its customers at a talk she gave at the University of Idaho several years ago & BUYERS was her answer.
That almost certainly accounts for why eBay has never "intelligently treated (sellers) as such.

It seems to me, the sellers are ebay customers.
Without the sellers, ebay may not be! Would they?
As customers of ebay, sellers are not treated with respect or given a voice.
Ebay is/was the best?
I guess I gave up on ebay a few months ago.
It's sad, at one time I loved it here.
I closed my store a few months ago and sold at auction for a short time. No more! I'm done!
I wish the best to you sellers who stay here. Good luck!
